Dona Noonan is excited to have joined Duncan FUMC as our Administrative Assistant, a new position at Duncan FUMC that combines the front office and business office duties in to one position. She describes the job as her dream job. She loves the days, the hours, and most of all, the people.

Dona is no stranger to the office environment. She has decades of working which placed her in the banking, accounting, insurance, and nonprofit industries. Her prior employer said things about her like Dona was a team player, a go-getter, steadfast, and loyal.

Dona says that she grew up as a “military brat” and lived in CA, WY, FL, IL, and IN. It is no wonder that upon graduation from high school, she joined the Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic. After spending four years enlisted, she left the military, but remained intimately connected in that she was married to a military member and of course, continued to move frequently finding herself in FL, IL, and TX.

In 2017, after a divorce, Dona found herself living off the grid in Idaho with her Great Pyreneans Mountain dogs, her Hound Dog, goats, sheep, peacocks, guineas, and chickens. She found these years to be extremely rewarding. Although her resources were limited, she said her life was full.

In 2020, the birth of her first grandchild led her to Oklahoma although she continued to live off-grid in Porter, OK until July 2023 when a second grandchild was born in Lawton, and she relocated to Lawton to help her daughter. And, oh yes, she now lives on-grid, but still has her Great Pyreneans and Hound Dog.
